Does anyone know how to delete a review you posted about a dev school? This is driving me insane. It shouldn't be this difficult.

Corrections: The descriptions on the left could be out of date, so check the coding house website to get more recent info on pricing.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The first half of the program is ~7 weeks of intense study and work. When I say intense, I mean REALLY intense. Frameworks are piled on to you one after another, and there is no way to fully understand everything you are being shown. Class is from 9-6, six days a week, with nightly projects that lasted me until 1am. Usually I’d spend at least h...

Are you seeking a career change? Have you been lured by promises of better compensation and opportunity? Don't be fooled by individuals from the placement-team who will tout falsified job placement percentages as evidence of better professional outcomes. The entire team at Flatiron School, from executive and management to placements and instructors, have absolutely no idea what's going on, and as long as they're getting your money by selling you on the hope of a new career, they don't care.

Codeup was a great experience for me. They offered hands-on training and extensive support from their staff. I was fortunate enough to land a job with great pay within a month of graduating Codeup.

Codeup will give you a solid foundation as being a developer. The benefit of Codeup over another bootcamp is all the help from the different instructors and also the preparation the staff gives to prepare you for the job hunt. The staff works hard to help you build a solid resume and also assist you ...

RefactorU values our students’ feedback and strives to deliver a world-class experience through our continuous improvement practices. The vast majority of our students and graduates are satisfied and quickly obtain employment (96% within 12 weeks), evidenced by our student outcomes survey.

To set the record straight:

All leading coding bootcamps are for-profit. Unlike most, RefactorU is privately held and entirely self-funded. What that means is we are not beholden to outside investors, so we...

I have been working in higher education for 12+ years; I say this so viewers of my review understand I have knowledge in this area. So, lets begin… Whether or not a school is non-profit or for-profit is important. Make note that RefactorU is a for-profit. Most people don’t realize there is a difference between non-profit schools (e.g. state schools like Colorado State University) and for-profit schools (e.g. University of Phoenix). Non-profits are structured in this way: learning is designe...

Very expensive for what is offered, you're paying for a lot of add ons like access to the local workery, marketing, and a trendy location. You will leave with entry level skills, do not expect to gain employment as a full stack developer. Course needs to be expanded to meet local industry needs. Nice office staff, wonderful instructors, but nice and wonderful don't create a good developer.

In the last years I have been doing a lot of Math tutoring and this December I decided to make an app that would try to improve my and my students’ experience. The main idea is that a Math learning app should be fun, simple, beautiful and most importantly customized (I generate word problems around passions of the kids, for example baking or soccer). The customized problems are a fantastic feature that, from my own experience, really add value to kids and make them a lot more attentive. Another key feature is that children do not have to type in the answer: they simply click a button to view the solution. I believe this takes away that feeling of being tested that in my opinion demotivates many students. Edtech has to join the rest of the industry and compete on user experience and user engagement. Do not worry I am not trying to sell you anything :) The app is free but is currently only available for Android from the Google Play Store. I would really appreciate some feedback on the idea and (if possible) on the app itself. You can find the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ionicframework.aris352447 You can find out more about the whole concept here: http://arismath.com/ Thank you, Valentino

Pretty good course for beginners. I went in with a very basic, mind you I mean VERY basic, understanding of HTML/CSS and came out learning enough to design a webpage with a database and upload it to a server. Can't compare it to other bootcamps of the sort considering this is my only one, but if you're new to programming it is a great place to start.

Hi guys,

We built an app (more info here: https://drops.la) and are in public beta, yet are having a hard time finding testers.

How have you guys gone about discovering beta testers? What are some strategies you'd recommend?

Thanks in advance for any comments!

I am really interested about it as well. It's really hard to find beta testers.

“Coding House” is not a deceptive title, Coding House is a house. An actual house. Actually it’s two houses. The first half of the program takes place in “CH1”, which reminds me of the house from the Brady Bunch, but with a different staircase. Besides the stairs, the other noticeable difference between the Brady’s house and CH1 is the “classroom” where the living room should be. I’m using quotes because the classroom is not a lecture hall or a computer lab. It’s a living room. There is a stag...

I learned quite a bit and am glad where I'm at now but the class I was in is no longer offered. We were the guinea pigs for a front end development night class bootcamp and unfortunately it did not work out for it to keep going. The people were cool but we learned the lead instructor who was teaching the front end didn't even like front end from previous students. So that was a bummer and definitely lessened the experience. The CEO never really spoke much to us (probably because we were the ...

Great school, learned a lot more in depth concepts about programming from the instructors. They help you, if you ask for help, they try to make you fully comprehend the concepts. The staff helps you with writing and revising your resume so it looks the best, a big help to me. Since graduating from Codeup, I was able to receive a job offer as a developer in less than a week. The results and price speak for themselves.
