My Experience @Coding House

Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance, the 5 Ps model I go by, and Coding House has provided me with all of that. When I first came to Coding House, I was like any other typical 4 year CS college student with tons of book knowledge, but unable to perform when asked to do it simply because I didn’t know how. I was fed up with following the typical CS track in school and blindly sending out resumes and hope for the best. So I made a decision and that landed me i...

To anyone who wants to create a bright future in the programming world, the best strategy to acquire all the knowledge necessary is definitely by being fully immersed in it. Coding House has definitely done that for me. There is no other place in the Silicon Valley where you can learn all the latest, and most relevant frameworks while getting access to the biggest technology companies in the world, all this without worrying about where to live. In my case, coming from Stockholm Sweden, where I ...

My name is Jose and I was in the cohort that started in January 2015 and ended April 2015. Before attending Coding House my only experience with programming was with iOS and some tutorials and courses from Treehouse. I decided to attend Coding House after deciding I wanted to make a career out of web development.

I applied to Coding House because I wanted to move to Silicon Valley and Coding House seemed to be the full package for my needs: housing, food and coding. As soon as I got to the hous...

I was using an app earlier to tag my instagram pictures. But was tired of bulk copying instagram Hashtags from that app and had to open up instagram app everytime to paste it to get more likes. So with the support of third party keyboards in iOS8 ,I decided to build an iOS8 keyboard app to tag your instagram pictures quickly. If you use instagram often, would you find this app useful?

I attended Coder Camps from Jan - March 2015 at their Bay Area location. It has been the best decision I've made in my high school/college drop-out career. I worked in sales for a company and made decent money. It wasn't fulfilling, and I knew I could do more with more brain. So I took the leap of faith and enrolled in camp.

Before coming to camp, I was asked to learn and ultimately tested on the basics of HTML, CSS and very little knowledge of JavaScript. During the first 3 weeks of camp there...

I would start by saying that attending Makers (September 2014 - December 2015) is by far one of the best experiences of my life from so many different perspectives. The learning curve is insane, the people on my cohort and the staff are inspirational and I had the time of my life.

I chose Makers for a couple of reasons, one of the biggest reasons was simply the feeling I got after having interviewed at a number colleges. The Makers process for entry is a lot more selective, giving me confidenc...

Golden Speak helps you talk better by analyzing your speech for vocabulary, pitch, rhythm, articulation, and filler words. The service is like a "spell" checker for voice. Except instead of checking for spelling, Golden Speak analyzes your words for voice specific items - like whether you speak in a monotone or use filler words such as "um", "er", and "uh". You can use the app in several ways: including a speak off, voice memo, and phone conversation (android).

I have Codeup to thank for my new skill set and my new job. The program was difficult, but I learned a lot in a short amount of time. The curriculum is very good, and the instructors care about your success.

During the course, you build a portfolio that includes four web apps and a website. They help you with your resume and LinkedIn profile, and you have access to Geekdom and Geekdom events during the course, which is a great networking opportunity. There are lunchtime speakers every week from...

From what I've read, developer bootcamps often run for weeks and cost appropriately escalated sums of money. I say that taking a week-long course in-residence at Eleven Fifty Academy in the Indianapolis area is the sweet-spot of boot-camping. I don't think I would have opted, at this point in my life, for weeks of do-nothing-else intensity at a huge money outlay. Having gone through the Intro to iOS Development in Swift programming language, naturally using Apple's Xcode integrated development e...

Hack Reactor is the best software engineering program out there, and it's not even close. I wanted to learn programming as fast as possible and HR was (and still is) the best opportunity available. Attending HR has been one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. A lot of people say that in their reviews because it really is true. If you manage to get accepted, you should go.

You will learn A LOT, just by being around so many smart people, but there are 2 main things you will definite...

I came into Epicodus, physically, with nothing. However, I did come with a passion for coding and a desire to learn. It quickly turned into the best experience I could possibly have. It is exemplary in teaching you the skills needed. This is shown even moreso in how Michael has continued to offer cohorts for students that fall into disciples other than the typical RoR and JS setup. He truly wants to play it to what the market needs and is best for the students.

My class was very successful. Eve...

My name is Richard and in October of 2014 I was a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks. I graduated from Coding House in December of 2014, now (January 2015) I am a fulltime software developer and making roughly 3-4x what I was at Starbucks, and of course, I’m only getting started. By March I will have completely paid off the expenses of Coding House and everything from there on out will be pure profit. It is with this in mind that I endorse Coding House, because for any flaws the fledgling bootcamp ma...

Why did I choose We Got Coders: After a thorough research of course providers it turned out they are the only ones offering a job placement upon successful course completion. Also the groups are smaller so you get more face time with your tutor (do not underestimate the value of this).

What to Expect: - This is the real deal, your pathway to become a Web Developer, the curriculum and Dan (your tutor) go the extra mile, you will be more prepared than the rest out there. - Long working days (al...

I rarely write reviews about products or services I purchased. However, I am making an exception for Epicodus because it was such a positive and amazing journey for me. I searched all the programs available at the time (late '13) and Epicodus was the only 4 month program, by far the longest and also cheapest program out there. I knew that i needed at least 4 months to learn programming. While I do I have a BS and MS in Information Technology, i was by no mean a programmer. I was s...

I attended Nashville Software School during cohort 3. I was looking to re-enter the workforce after years as a stay-at-home dad. I found the experience to be fun, challenging, and rewarding in various ways. After graduation, I worked at the school as a TA while picking up contracting work on the side. Now, just 17 months removed from being at home with my kids, I am employed full-time as a Software Engineer.

My experience with NSS has been a tremendously rewarding one. It took a lot of hard wo...

I am a graduate from the second cohort of NSS. I entered the program with a Bachelors Degree in Music and work history in Healthcare. I had zero development experience upon entering the program. Since graduation, I have been fortunate to obtain gainful employment with an agency and two start-up companies.

NSS was no walk in the park. It was immersive. It was challenging. It required a great deal of time and energy. But, as with many things worth doing in life, you get out of it what you put in....
